About the Assignment

You will join an Event Streaming product within an Integration domain that enables secure, reliable, and scalable integrations across the organization and external partners. The focus is on self-service, automation, and operational excellence—making integrations easy to build, safe to run, and aligned with enterprise architecture and security requirements.

In this role, you’ll help shape how integrations are developed by strengthening the Kafka platform architecture, evolving platform capabilities and tooling, and enabling application teams to fully manage their integrations.

Job Description

• Design and evolve the Kafka platform architecture to meet developer and product team needs.
• Develop new platform capabilities and supporting tooling for a modern event streaming platform.
• Drive operational excellence through automation of lifecycle management and self-service workflows.
• Improve monitoring, logging, and dashboards for platform reliability and observability.
• Support product teams in designing their Kafka usage and applying best practices.
• Assist development teams with onboarding to the central Kafka platform and migrations when applicable.
• Contribute to reference architecture and best-practice guidance for Kafka usage.
• Participate in third-level support for platform-related incidents and issues.
• Maintain technical documentation for the platform.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience designing and implementing software solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Extensive experience creating Kafka clusters in Kubernetes environments.
• Required knowledge of the Strimzi distribution of Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with supporting tools such as kSQL, Kafka Connect, MirrorMaker 2, and Schema Registry.
• Strong experience and deep understanding of event-driven architecture, including hands-on management of Kafka platforms.
• Solid understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles and methodologies.
• Experience writing structured, high-quality code and working with code reviews, pull requests, and testing.
• Experience building automation and self-service workflows.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
