About the Assignment

You will take ownership of an event streaming service in a large-scale digital environment within the automotive industry. The service plays a central role in enabling secure, reliable, and scalable integrations across the business and with external partners.

In this role, you will manage the full service lifecycle for a platform based on Apache Kafka, while helping shape a modern integration landscape built on self-service, automation, and operational excellence. You will work closely with technical teams, architects, and suppliers to ensure the service continues to meet business needs and evolves in line with future demands.

Job Description

• Own the long-term direction, vision, and tactical roadmap for the event streaming service.
• Manage the full service lifecycle, from design and onboarding to operations and continual improvement.
• Collaborate with suppliers and technical teams to ensure effective delivery of the Kafka platform.
• Develop new service capabilities and support the evolution of self-service functionality.
• Work with architects to secure a robust platform architecture and supporting tooling.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, lifecycle management, and continuous platform improvements.
• Ensure effective monitoring, logging, and dashboard capabilities are in place.
• Define and manage service requirements and specifications.
• Align service strategy and operations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Guide development teams in Kafka best practices and support wider adoption across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with standards, policies, and quality expectations.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in a leading role, driving digital service strategy as a Service Owner, Service Manager, or equivalent position.
• Extensive experience in integration concepts and technologies.
• Strong experience with event streaming and Kafka platforms and strategies.
• Experience working with suppliers and managing discussions related to both critical operations and development.
• Experience working within distributed service teams and with modern development practices.
• A data-driven approach to decision-making and performance measurement.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
