About the Assignment
You will join an advanced engineering environment focused on industrial robotics, where electric motor performance has a direct impact on reliability, efficiency, and product quality. In this assignment, you will work closely with a Principal Engineer and act as a subject-matter expert in electric motors, helping shape technical choices from early requirement work through evaluation, testing, and validation.
The role combines deep technical analysis with practical engineering input. You will assess motor behavior, support investigations of motor-related issues, and contribute to design decisions that affect both development and field performance. Job Description
- You will drive motor selection and technical evaluation for industrial robot applications.
- You will define and refine requirements together with key engineering stakeholders.
- You will analyze motor behavior related to torque and speed characteristics.
- You will assess efficiency, losses, thermal behavior, cooling, lifetime, and degradation.
- You will support root cause analysis of motor-related issues in development and in the field.
- You will contribute as a subject-matter expert in technical reviews and design decisions.
- You will take part in testing, validation, and qualification activities.
- You will provide input on motor technology trends and supplier capabilities.
Requirements
- Senior-level engineering experience within R&D.
- Expert knowledge of electric motors.
- Experience working with motor selection and evaluation.
- Ability to define and refine technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of motor performance, robustness, efficiency, losses, thermal behavior, cooling, lifetime, and degradation.
- Experience supporting root cause analysis for motor-related issues.
- Ability to contribute to testing, validation, and qualification activities.
- English is required.
Nice to have
- Experience from industrial robots or similar applications.
- Experience participating in technical reviews and design decisions as a subject-matter expert.
- Knowledge of motor technology trends and supplier capabilities.
- Swedish is a merit.
