About the Assignment

You will join a high-impact team in the banking sector that builds and maintains systems for investment fund trading. The environment is complex and backend-heavy, with strong focus on quality, reliability, and fast delivery. In this role, you will take ownership of test automation strategy and help shape how quality is built into development from the start.

You will work closely with developers, DevOps, and product stakeholders to improve test coverage across multiple layers and make sure releases are both efficient and dependable. This assignment is especially interesting if you enjoy combining technical depth with real influence over test strategy, frameworks, and delivery flow.

Job Description

• You will design and implement scalable, reusable test automation frameworks.
• You will build and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers.
• You will develop automation for functional, regression, and integration testing.
• You will carry out manual and exploratory testing where automation is not the best option.
• You will integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
• You will prepare and manage test data, analyze test results, and report defects clearly.
• You will improve testing processes by automating repetitive workflows.
• You will work closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to strengthen quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Strong experience balancing automation and manual testing.
• Proficiency in Java (21+).
• Experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
• Experience with JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, or similar tools.
• Experience with API testing using REST Assured or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience testing event-driven systems such as Kafka, JMS, or MQ.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns.
• Experience testing complex distributed backend systems.
• Ability to design structured manual test cases and perform exploratory testing.
• Fluent English.
