About the Role
You will take a key role in shaping the electrical and electronic architecture behind hybrid and fully electric powertrain solutions. In this automotive environment, the challenge is to create systems that are scalable, high-performing, and safe while supporting the transition toward more sustainable transportation.
You will work across a broad technical scope, from hybrid engine control systems to fully electric drivetrains, including Electrical Drive Units and inverters. Together with software, hardware, safety, cybersecurity, and EMC specialists, you will help define how complex subsystems interact and evolve from concept to production. This is an exciting opportunity for you who want to influence architecture decisions in an advanced powertrain domain.
Job Description
- You will define and develop system architecture for electrical and electronic systems across hybrid and electric powertrain solutions.
- You will turn product needs into tailored system requirements and adapt customer requirements for new products.
- You will drive integration and scalability across subsystems and ECUs to ensure robust system interaction.
- You will collaborate closely with software component owners, hardware developers, and system experts to align detailed design with system-level goals.
- You will secure compliance with automotive safety and performance standards, including ISO 26262 and cybersecurity regulations.
- You will handle technical challenges related to communication network design, EMC impact, and topology optimization.
- You will support the industrialization of electrical systems from early concept through production readiness.
- You will act as a key technical point of contact in dialogue with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record of defining and developing electrical system architecture within the automotive industry.
- Extensive knowledge of ECU design, communication protocols, and relevant industry standards such as AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and cybersecurity regulations.
- Deep technical understanding of EMC challenges, load balancing, and signal interactions within vehicles.
- Proven ability to collaborate across hardware and software disciplines and drive system integration together with component owners and system experts.
- Strong Swedish and English skills.
- A proactive, structured way of working and strong problem-solving ability in complex technical environments.

- Experience with Volvo Cars, AB Volvo, or Geely Group companies.
