About the Role
You will step into a key role in a powertrain R&D environment where robust risk analysis is essential for product quality, delivery capability, and audit readiness. In this position, you will own the FMEA process within R&D and act as the go-to expert for risk-related topics and Requirements Management.
The role combines methodology, tools, training, and hands-on support to engineering teams. You will help create a more standardized and effective way of working across projects, while ensuring that FMEAs are completed with the right quality and on time. This is a strong opportunity if you want to influence both process and implementation in an advanced engineering setting.
Job Description
- You will own the FMEA process across R&D and guide the organization in performing high-quality risk assessment analysis.
- You will act as business owner of the FMEA tool and drive its configuration, implementation, and ongoing development.
- You will support projects with FMEA status follow-up across System, Function, and Design FMEAs.
- You will educate teams in the current methodology and help translate ways of working to meet AIAG-VDA customer requirements.
- You will align and standardize how FMEA is planned, executed, and documented across R&D.
- You will create and deliver training, from introductory sessions to deep technical deep-dives.
- You will support audit readiness by strengthening process compliance, traceability, and tool usage.
- You will work closely with engineering and other stakeholders to resolve critical risk items and move several initiatives forward in parallel.
Requirements
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of risk management and System, Function, and Design FMEAs
- Strong theoretical knowledge of Requirements Management and Systems engineering
- Previous experience with tool configuration and implementation
- Experience working in R&D and engineering environments
- Knowledge of different FMEA methodologies, including AIAG-VDA
- Knowledge of ICE and Hybrid powertrain units
- Understanding of traceability requirements and certifications such as ISO9001, ISO14001, and IATF
- Previous experience hosting trainings and creating educational training material
- Ability to communicate effectively across and outside engineering, facilitate groups, and manage multiple initiatives at the same time
Nice to have
- Previous experience working with other suppliers and OEMs
- Basic engineering knowledge of other unit types such as REX and E-machines
- Previous experience implementing a new Requirements Management system in a similar OEM or supplier environment
