About the Role

You will shape the color, material, and finish expression for one or more vehicle programs in an advanced automotive environment. From early concept through launch, you will turn CMF strategy into production-ready design solutions that balance creative intent, brand expression, and manufacturing feasibility.

This is a hands-on role with real influence. You will work across design, engineering, visualization, suppliers, and craft disciplines to define both macro themes and detailed elements such as quilting, textures, perforations, and mesh patterns. If you enjoy combining strong visual storytelling with technical depth, this role offers the chance to make a visible impact on products that move from idea to production.

Job Description

• You will lead CMF development for assigned vehicle programs from concept to launch.
• You will create complete CMF proposals covering color, material, and finish specifications, including technical drawings for quilt and perforation patterns.
• You will translate strategic CMF direction into feasible, production-ready solutions.
• You will collaborate closely with designers, engineers, modelers, visualization specialists, trimmers, and painters.
• You will coordinate with suppliers for exterior paint, soft trim, and decorative materials.
• You will develop both high-level CMF themes and detailed design elements such as textures, quilting, and mesh patterns.
• You will produce visual presentations, renders, and storytelling material to communicate proposals clearly.
• You will contribute to sustainability initiatives and explore new material opportunities.
• You will support and mentor other CMF designers while helping the team share knowledge.
• You will present proposals confidently to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of CMF experience.
• Proven experience delivering production-ready CMF programs.
• Experience working with cross-functional and global teams.
• Experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to independently lead CMF programs.
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Ability to create high-quality renders in VRED or Blender.

Nice to have

• Experience from the automotive industry.
• Familiarity with Rhino.
• Knowledge of generative AI tools.
