About the Role

You will help shape safety-critical, real-time transmission management systems in a modern automotive environment working with both ICE and BEV products. In this role, you will contribute across the full development lifecycle, from early concept and requirements to implementation, testing, verification, and documentation.

You will work in a technically advanced area where transmission behavior, drivability, and system safety need to perform together in real time. That means building robust control software, refining functions, and validating solutions close to the product. It is a strong opportunity for you if you enjoy embedded development in a complex powertrain domain where your work has clear impact all the way to vehicle level.

Job Description

• You will develop and maintain control strategies and software functions for transmission management systems.
• You will implement gear shifting functions for both ICE and BEV applications.
• You will write and refine requirements and turn them into reliable embedded software solutions.
• You will work mainly in C and also contribute in Matlab/Simulink.
• You will plan and perform testing and verification, including unit tests, SIL testing, and vehicle-level testing.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-quality, and safe technical solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
• Experience in automotive powertrain control software development, such as transmission management systems and/or Motor-Generator Control Units (MGCU).
• Strong experience in C.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python.
• Experience in embedded software development, control systems, or vehicle development.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN FD, and Ethernet.
• Experience with testing methodologies including unit testing, integration, SIL, and vehicle testing.
• Familiarity with TRATON in-house systems.
• Experience working with functional safety according to ISO 26262.
