About the Role

You will join an engineering environment focused on engine development, where CFD is a central part of improving component and system performance. In this role, you will work with 3D CFD simulations of engine components and systems using Star-CCM+, and play an active part in deciding which simulations create the most value in the development process.

You will collaborate closely with the wider development team through regular meetings, where your input will help guide technical decisions and clarify next steps. The role also includes analyzing simulation results, presenting insights, and contributing to better ways of working over time. This is a strong opportunity for you if you want to combine deep CFD work with real influence on methodology and product development.

Job Description

• You will perform CFD simulations of engine components and systems using Star-CCM+.
• You will take an active role in defining which simulations should be carried out in the development process.
• You will analyze results from completed simulations and present your conclusions to stakeholders in regular technical meetings.
• You will support engine development by turning simulation data into practical engineering insight.
• You will contribute to the continuous improvement of simulation methods and ways of working.

Requirements

• MSc or higher academic degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a comparable field.
• A minimum of 4 years experience in industrially applied CFD simulations.
• Professional level proficiency in Star-CCM+.

Nice to have

• Experience with underhood simulations.
• Experience of modelling rotating geometries such as turbines and compressors.
• Experience with cooling jacket simulations.
• Experience of simulations using conjugate heat transfer.
• Engine knowledge.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with Java scripting.
• Experience with OpenFoam.
• Experience with Converge.
• Experience with GT Suite.
