About the Role

You will help shape how future vehicles are experienced through light. In this role, you will define lighting solutions across both interior and exterior, combining brand expression, safety and emotion in concepts that also work in real production environments.

You will work in an advanced automotive design setting where technology and innovation meet design execution. Together with teams across exterior and interior design, CMF, UX and engineering, you will turn ideas into lighting implementations that meet technical, regulatory and performance expectations. It is an exciting opportunity to influence vehicle experiences from concept through simulation and prototype validation.

Job Description

• You will create and develop lighting concepts for interior and exterior applications, including ambient, functional and communication lighting.
• You will shape lighting solutions that align with the vehicle's design character while fitting technical constraints, materials and surface integration.
• You will use visualisation, simulation and VR workflows to validate light effects, integration and feasibility.
• You will present concepts in a clear and engaging way to stakeholders and suppliers, helping drive alignment around design intent.
• You will validate ideas through hands-on prototyping, both internally and together with external partners.
• You will work closely with design and engineering teams to translate creative concepts into feasible, manufacturable lighting solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Design, Product Design, Transportation Design, Interaction Design, Lighting Design, or a similar field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in automotive lighting design or closely related fields such as consumer products or architecture.
• Proficiency with lighting design and visualisation tools.
• Experience translating lighting concepts into feasible, manufacturable solutions together with suppliers and engineering teams.
• Excellent communication in English, both written and verbal.
• A hands-on prototyping mindset, including electrical and electronic basics and rapid prototyping skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of automotive lighting regulations and constraints.
