About the Role
You will take ownership of payroll delivery in a large and complex Swedish payroll environment where accuracy, compliance and stability are business-critical. This role suits you if you enjoy combining operational leadership with continuous improvement and if you are comfortable navigating both day-to-day payroll matters and longer-term development. You will work closely with HR, Finance, IT, Rewards, People Services and external providers, while helping shape priorities for payroll systems, integrations and governance. Job Description
- You will lead and support the payroll team, set clear priorities and create strong ownership across daily operations.
- You will ensure accurate, compliant and timely end-to-end payroll delivery in a complex Swedish setup.
- You will monitor payroll quality, controls, risks and service performance, and act quickly when issues arise.
- You will drive process improvements, digitalisation and automation to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
- You will collaborate with stakeholders across HR, Finance, IT, Rewards, People Services and external partners on payroll-related topics.
- You will translate operational needs into clear priorities for payroll systems, integrations and long-term development.
- You will help create structure, governance and practical ways of working that strengthen payroll delivery over time.
Requirements
- You have extensive hands-on knowledge of Swedish end-to-end payroll in a large or complex organisation.
- You have strong knowledge of Swedish payroll legislation, compliance, controls, reporting and the annual payroll cycle.
- You have experience managing payroll for multiple employee groups and collective agreements.
- You have a strong understanding of payroll systems, integrations, data flows, troubleshooting and external provider management.
- You have experience of payroll transformation, process development, digitalisation or system-related change.
- You are confident using payroll data and reporting to identify risks, support decision-making and drive improvements.
- You have senior payroll leadership experience and a proven ability to guide experienced payroll specialists through operational complexity, change and improvement.
- You are able to balance strategic direction with hands-on operational judgement and decisive issue resolution.
- Swedish is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with SAP and HRM-related payroll flows is highly relevant.
