About the Assignment
In this role, you help keep business-critical enterprise applications stable, updated, and reliable across Linux and Windows environments. You work with L2/L3 application operations in a structured setup where documented procedures, collaboration, and continuous improvement are central parts of the work.
You will work closely with the Application Maintenance Lead as well as teams in maintenance, QA, development, and operations. The assignment combines instruction-based maintenance with deeper analysis when incidents, configuration issues, or release activities require investigation across application, OS, network, and container layers.
You will support internal enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Confluence, and other business applications, with a strong focus on troubleshooting, validation, documentation, and operational quality.
Job Description
- Execute maintenance, configuration, and update tasks based on documented procedures.
- Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis across applications, operating systems, and containers.
- Review system, application, and container logs to identify issues and propose corrective actions.
- Validate configurations and verify service functionality after releases and infrastructure changes.
- Support change and release activities, including pre-checks, post-validation, and rollback coordination.
- Monitor application health and identify risks or deviations early.
- Carry out approved configuration updates and minor fixes in supported environments.
- Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, and peers to isolate and resolve issues.
- Maintain and improve operational documentation, runbooks, and maintenance procedures.
- Share knowledge and contribute to more efficient and reliable maintenance processes.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in application operations, maintenance, or support.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux, including openSUSE, SLES, or similar distributions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows Server.
- Practical experience with Docker or Podman in containerized application environments.
- Understanding of network fundamentals and inter-service dependencies, including IP, DNS, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience analyzing system and application logs to identify and resolve issues.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Confluence, or similar enterprise systems.
- Ability to update and validate applications within defined change and release procedures.
- A structured way of working and the ability to follow and refine operational documentation.
- Fluency in English, spoken and written.
Nice to have
- Experience with Zabbix or similar monitoring tools.
- Experience with GitHub Actions in release workflows.
- Basic knowledge of YAML, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience performing first-level analysis of JavaScript or TypeScript logs in web-based systems.
- Experience updating certificates or configurations in Kubernetes-based identity management systems.
