About the Assignment

You will join a data foundation team within a connected services environment, where you will help manage and improve application databases that support business-critical digital solutions. In this role, you will work closely with other database specialists, product development teams, and architecture stakeholders to ensure stable, secure, and scalable database services.

The assignment combines operational database ownership with development support and continuous improvement. You will contribute both to daily database administration and to long-term enhancements in automation, quality, stability, and security across the database landscape.

Job Description

• Manage PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle databases in AWS.
• Handle daily operations, performance tuning, capacity planning, and database consolidation.
• Support product development teams with SQL development, enhancements, and runtime activities.
• Discuss database needs with projects and guide them toward suitable solutions.
• Collaborate with the domain architect to design new solutions and secure reliable deliveries.
• Perform traditional DBA tasks while contributing to the continuous improvement of database services.
• Drive initiatives related to automation, quality, stability, and database security.
• Support larger database changes and contribute to a well-functioning production environment.
• Participate in on-call support as part of the operational setup.

Requirements

• At least 3 years hands-on experience in handling PostgreSQL database in production.
• Good experience handling databases in AWS and good cloud engineering knowledge.
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and/or good knowledge of MongoDB.
• Experience in implementing changes to larger database environments.
• Ability to work independently and drive activities.
• Experience in on-call support and willingness to work in that setup.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Development experience in the database area.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools outside of CloudWatch.
• Ability to leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery.
