About the Assignment

You will help develop next-generation powertrain control solutions in an automotive environment focused on both hybrid systems and fully electric powertrains. The work spans advanced functions such as electrical drive units, inverters, and engine control, where reliable electronics are critical for performance, safety, and industrialization.

In this role, you will take ownership of key control units such as ECMs and inverters, with long-term responsibility for design, industrialization, and lifecycle management. You will work closely with software component owners, architects, and specialists in areas such as system safety, cyber security, and EMC. This is a great opportunity if you want to influence complex hardware decisions in a high-performing engineering team and follow products all the way from concept to production.

Job Description

• You will lead the hardware design and lifecycle management of electronic control units.
• You will drive product development and industrialization from concept through production.
• You will act as Component Owner for key control units such as ECMs and inverters.
• You will handle technical challenges related to EMC, load handling, and functional in/out pinning of circuit boards.
• You will collaborate closely with software engineers and system architects to secure integration and node topology.
• You will act as the main technical contact for suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• You will contribute to robust technical solutions that support long-term product quality and maintainability.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Solid experience in electronics hardware development within the automotive industry.
• Proven track record working with industrialization of automotive ECUs.
• Deep knowledge of communication protocols between nodes, EMC impact, loads, and circuit board pin functionality.
• Strong understanding of software interaction and ECU topology.
• Fluent Swedish and English.

Nice to have

• Experience from Volvo Cars, AB Volvo, or Geely Group companies in Western Sweden.
